This document authorizes the immigration service to review applications from foreign students for temporary residence for the purpose of studying, provided that the requirements established by law are met. Decisions are made on a case-by-case basis for each application.
The institute is registered in Switzerland in the Vaud Canton business registry and holds a Swiss Business Identification Number (UID). In June 2021, it was added to the list of private educational institutions in the Canton of Vaud. The cost is listed per semester and does not depend on the number of courses in that semester. It includes access to the platform, course materials, webinars, support from an academic advisor, and two retakes per course. A third and any subsequent retakes and administrative fees for specific services are billed separately. Institutional accreditation means that external experts have evaluated the institution as a whole—including its educational processes, management system, and internal quality assurance—and have determined that they meet the agency’s standards. This is an evaluation of the institution, not of a specific program.

They make the program “readable” for external evaluation: a university or employer can see the program’s level, the list of courses, the course load, and the total volume of study in understandable European units, rather than just the name of the degree.
Accreditation and ECTS are assessment tools: they allow a university or employer to quickly understand a program’s level, content, and scope. Each organization makes its own decision regarding recognition based on its own rules and the laws of its country, so recognition is not automatic. SIIL’s open documents significantly simplify this procedure.
A letter confirming inclusion on the list of private educational institutions in the Canton of Vaud (in accordance with immigration law) was issued by the Canton’s Population Service on June 3, 2021. Students can study concurrently at SIIL and the West Kazakhstan Innovation and Technology University (Uralsk). These are two separate admissions processes and two independent degrees, each awarded upon fulfillment of the academic requirements of its respective institution.
