SIIL Career Center: From the First Question to a Successful Interview

Studying at SIIL is not just about academic knowledge; it also involves active preparation for entering the international job market. The institute’s Career Center helps students and alumni figure out their career paths, “package” their accumulated experience, and prepare for meetings with employers.
How does it work?
The format is as practical as possible: one-on-one online consultations tailored to your specific needs. This can be either a single session or a series of sessions designed to thoroughly explore your career strategy. The outcome of each consultation is a clear plan for your next steps.
Our Students' Success Stories
Case Study No. 1: Presenting Experience Correctly
Student: Anna Mikhailovskaya
Major: “Project Management,” 2nd year
- Request: Revising a resume before looking for a job.
- Problem: The experience was described in a formal manner. The employer did not grasp the actual scope of the tasks or the candidate's value.
- Result: With the help of a consultant, Anna completely revamped the structure of her profile. She highlighted the skills that are important to the job market. Now Anna’s resume fully reflects her professional level and is ready to attract responses.

Case Study No. 2: Changing Career Paths (Pivot)
Student: Olga Prodan
Major: “Project Management,” 3rd year
- Request: Transition from sales to project management.
- Problem: Despite having the necessary skills (working with teams, meeting deadlines), the resume was "tailored" to the previous role.
- Result: During the consultation, Olga’s professional history was reexamined through the lens of project management. We developed a new positioning strategy.
- Status: Olga is currently actively and confidently interviewing for positions in a new field.

Case Study No. 3: Entering the Luxury Industry Without Direct Experience
Student: Gabriela Matosyan
Major: “Brand Management of Luxury Goods and Services,” 3rd year
- Request: Starting a career in brand management.
- Problem: a lack of direct experience specifically in this role and a lack of understanding of how to break into this exclusive industry.
- Result: The consultants identified a realistic path forward: entering the market through marketing, building on existing capabilities.
- Status: We are currently working on the final versions of my resume and cover letter for the target companies.
Summary
The Career Center does not look for jobs on behalf of students. Our goal is to provide you with the tools and confidence you need to enter the job market well-prepared and competitive.
